The line marked by the black dots is the main road (gravel).  The top of this photo (north) comes from Cabo Rojo, the bottom part (south) goes to the Light House.  The dock at the left is the "Empanadillas & Rellenos" store formerly know as "Agua al Cuello", but be careful to not enter the restaurant with the same name.
The red square marks the reserve gate, witch is made of barbwire and tree posts.  This kind of gate helps maintain out large mammals from the reserve (no useful for large mammals on bikes).
The green dots trail goes north bordering the lagoons.  This trail is very safe for kids, no cars and the barbwire fence is far.  Its' very safe and you have a great sense of  freedom.  But remember to clean well the bikes after this, this area are high in salt spray.  this trail continues in  the next map.

In this area the main road (black dots) changes from gravel to pavement (black line).   The green trail, come from the south and measures approximately  0.42 miles from the reserve gate to the paved road exit.  Note that before you cross the road there is another intersection to your right, this will pass over "dirt bridge" and ends close to a salt mountain.  You should be aware that before you find the road there is a previous intersection to the left.  This will also take you to the road, but just ignore it.  Don't worry to miss the second detour, the trail closes completely and let you no option but the correct exit.  The advantage of this exit is that you will find the other part of the trail easily.   (Why the all terrain chicken crosses the road...? To get to the other side of the Trail!  ; - )

The other side...  The gate has changed little.  Now it has a rotary gate for hikers,
but it hasn't changed much at all!

As you can see in the photo at the top, the other side trail is wide and is made of gravel.  Several meters further you will find several bicycles signs that will mark a small single track.  You might find sand but the degree of difficulty is close to cero (0).   Its well marked an its nice!

The trail continues in this photo/map.  As can be noticed there is a trail to the north (riders right)  marked blue that will take you to the Interpretative Center and the Tower (see photos at the end).

If you continue in the green trail you will find a water gate at your left (red square).  This trail  will border some large salt flats with a incredible (but strange) view.  To continue just use one of the index-maps.
